It was 6:00 AM on a cold Sunday morning and instead of sleeping in my bed I was waiting in a queue in front of the 23rd Street Best Buy in Manhattan. I was one of the “lucky” ones that got my Wii. I was hoping to get my shiny new video game system in the mail via a pre-order. But that didn’t pan out. Luckily, I noticed on the Best Buy website that they were doing a ticket system for the Wiis with no bundle tie in. So I set my alarm the night before launch day for the crack of dawn and tried to get some sleep.
